The past is remembered. Live in the moment. The future is in you.

This is one of my life quotes from my previous blog post. Now, I rather learn about somebody than talk about myself. (Neglect this blog.) Yes, I am more open-minded now than before. (This blog says it all.) Ask, and listen. (Do not interrogate somebody. Do not keep asking a question immediately followed by another question. For instance, I know somebody who does that. She would ask me, “How are you?” Then, I would answer, “I am good.” She immediately asks me another question, “How’s life?” And so on.)
First and foremost, be a good listener. This past weekend, I met a mutual friend. My friends and I stayed at a log cabin in Truckee, California using an online app, AirBNB. Everybody went grocery shopping, except me and this mutual friend. We started to connect. I asked, and listened. Then, he began to vent about his recent family situation. Also, I advised one of my good friends. He needed help with a lady. (Like his father, he talks more than he listens.) I only told him, “Ask, and listen.” After you are done reading this, have the time to patiently know somebody. |
