40) My "Undecided" Christmas Plans

Plans for this weekend:

• Stay at a log cabin in Tahoe with close friend and his family on Saturday the 24th (Christmas Eve)
  
• Come back home on the 25th (Christmas Day)

Are you going to both? Yes.

I decided to drive alone to Tahoe, then drive back home the following morning. (About a 3 hour drive from home to Tahoe.)

According to the forecast in Tahoe, it will be snowing over there this weekend. (Obviously, the snow changes everything.)

What else should I do?

Rent an all-wheel drive car. (It is about $350 rental from 24th-26th, then I have to provide paying for my own gas. Not worth it.)

Buy snow chains for my 2-wheel drive car, except it takes forever driving with chains. (Must drive 30 mph at the maximum with chains installed.)

Ask close friend's family for a ride back home on the 25th. (Everybody else is staying until the 26th.)

Take Uber back home. (Possibly, $400 or more. Too expensive.)

​If only, it did not snow in Tahoe, then I could have gone according to plan. Most likely, I might have to pass on the log cabin.
